Verve (or VaVaVerve) is a UK-based brand that sells well-being powders and pills that are full of health benefits. From their very popular Transparent Greens V80 powder, to Honest Mushrooms, they claim their powders help to give you more energy, better focus, less stress and overall, a healthier you.
I’m always in the market for a greens drink. I’ve tried several in the past but never managed to keep it up. They’ve tasted horrible and didn’t make me feel any better. I didn’t find a way to keep the drink a habit which isn’t surprising – who wants to start their day with a horrible-tasting greens drink? Not me (now coffee on the other hand? yes please).
Transparent V80 Kit for better energy, stronger immunity, improved digestion, cognitive functioning
Verve kindly sent me their V80 kit, which includes a large greens pouch, glass water bottle, refillable stainless steel storage tin, and two recyclable serving scoops. They sent this for free so I could review it, and I’m now a paying customer with a monthly subscription.
After successfully building it into my morning routine, these are the benefits I’ve seen over the last few months.

What is a greens drink?
My Mum asked me to explain when I told her about the drink. Embarrassingly, I didn’t exactly know how to explain it properly. I know it’s because of all the vitamins and minerals it contains, plus the colour is green—but after reading the Verve website, it’s because the powder is made up of blended vegetables. That’s where all the goodness comes from. Is it stupid of me not to realise it was blended veggies? Ok. Might delete this.
Why bother with a greens drink?
If you want to kick-start your health by adding lots of vitamins and minerals to your diet, a green drink is for you. They can help with:
- energy
- focus
- sleep
- immunity
- digestion
My diet is good, but I’m a vegetarian and quite boring with food. I eat the same foods. I eat some fruit and veggies, but I wouldn’t say an impressive amount. I want a quick, easy way to add goodness to my diet without considering different meals. I hate cooking and quite lazy, can you tell?
A greens drink doesn’t work immediately. You have to try it for at least a month. I started seeing differences in 3 weeks, which I’ll detail below.
What ingredients are in Verve?
One of the big points mentioned on their website is how transparent they are about the 80 all-natural ingredients in each scoop. Their ingredients page is big and goes into a lot of detail on what ingredients can help with certain things:
- Increased Energy Levels: Magnesium and Ashwagandha
- Enhanced Immune Function: Vitamin C, Selenium, Folate, Vitamin D3, and Copper
- Improved Digestion: 8 billion CFU of Lactobacillus Rhamnosus and B. Bifidum included in V80 support healthy digestion.
- Cognition and Psychological Function: Vitamin B12 supports normal psychological function, and Iron and Zinc aid cognitive function.
It contains black pepper, which is a big win for me. I take tumeric pills that include black pepper which is good for inflammation. I’ve read about the benefits of black pepper; the ingredient piperine can help the body absorb more curcumin, the active ingredient in turmeric.
I take several daily vitamins, but by taking Verve, I can reduce them by 70%. I’m now probably overdosing on a few – yikes.

Verve is FDA-approved. The greens powder is free from allergens and vegan/vegetarian safe.
How do you use and drink Verve?
You take one scoop daily, a full serving, in water. You get the measuring scoop in their welcome pack, which is offered for free at the time of writing (worth £45).
In the welcome kit, you also get the water bottle, which has horizontal lines on it. This helps you know where to add water if you want a strong, recommended, or lighter-tasting drink.
Fitting it into a daily routine
I’ve managed to build Verve into my morning routine very easily. I was taking creatine and collagen powder together in water, which is disgusting. Now I’m adding Verve with a drop of lemon juice, which makes it enjoyable because it’s tasty.
The collagen I’m taking with Verve is Ancient + Brave. It’s helped my hair grow, my nails grow strong, and my skin looks more awake! See my article for a full review: Ancient + Brave true collagen review.
The taste
I’ve tried a few other green drinks, but I’ve never been able to stick with any because I haven’t enjoyed the taste.
A greens drink needs to be tasty. Otherwise, I won’t bother with it, especially if it tastes like a leaf, like the others I’ve tried. It’s got to become an enjoyable part of my morning routine that sets me up for the day and makes me feel better.
I’m happy to say I’m enjoying the taste of Verve, especially when I add a few drops of lemon juice. It’s a sweet taste and doesn’t have a lingering effect or ruin my morning coffee (more info on this below).
The texture
I’ve read some reviews saying it’s lumpy and gritty. I wouldn’t agree with these. It’s only slightly gritty in the very last gulp which is to be expected. It’s never lumpy for me as I shake it well and drink it straight away. If you leave it standing for a while, then it might go lumpy – I’m not sure. You’d just need to re-shake it.

What benefits have I seen?
Morning coffee and setting (and keeping) good habits
I usually have my morning coffee within 30 minutes of waking up, and it’s the first thing I drink. This is bad for you, in case you weren’t aware! It increases cortisol levels too much, apparently. Now, whilst my coffee is brewing, I have my morning Verve with:
- water – just over half way
- a scoop of Ancient + Brave True collagen
- a scoop of creatine
- a few drops of lemon juice. Lemon juice can help cleanse your body by removing toxins. I think it adds a lot of flavour to Verve.
It all goes in the Verve water bottle and a quick shake gets it ready. I find the taste really nice; kinda fruity. It isn’t grainy or lumpy at all. Then I have my coffee. Verve doesn’t worsen the taste of coffee either – I can have it immediately afterwards (thank goodness).
It has integrated into my morning so easily that it’s now a habit and something I’d miss. Those small habits help make a day feel positive and productive. I feel like I set myself up for a good day when I start it so well with a healthy drink.
Saving with vitamins
I currently take 8-10 daily vitamins in the morning (yes, I rattle). I’d much rather drink something like Verve, which gives me what I need (and more). I currently spend on average £35 per month on numerous vitamins, most of which I’ll be able to stop buying because Verve contains them. I take ashwagandha pills for energy and mood, B12, iron and zinc for brain function, zinc and biotin for healthy nails & hair – all of these I’ll now be able to stop because the vitamins are in Verve.
How I’m feeling – improvements with fitness, energy levels
UPDATE: during my 4th week of taking Verve, I ran my 2nd fastest-ever 5k. This was during a stressful week; being in my luteal phase; not running for a week, and just… feeling pretty crappy. I haven’t seen improvements to my running pace in months, so I’m chuffed to bits. Obviously, I can’t say it’s Verve, but I’m pretty sure it is.
I’m exercising more. I’ve increased my daily step goal and I’m meeting it 5-6 days out of 7 weekly which I’m chuffed with. I’m less tired when I wake up, and don’t seem to snooze anymore.
Since writing this blog, I’ve taken out a monthly subscription which has allowed me to continue taking the daily powder. I feel like I’m seeing more benefits with each week. My last period was better too, so I needed less paracetamols/ibruprofen for the pain which is amazing.
How long does it take to see certain benefits? This is from the Verve website:
- Benefits after 30 days: If you’re severely vitamin deficient you may begin to feel a change almost immediately as your body absorbs the nutrients its lacking. You may start to feel more energetic, focused and alert.
- Benefits after 60 days: After 2 months consistently taking Verve V80 every day your metabolism and digestion will be improved.
- Benefits after 90 days: After 90 days you will have established a new routine and this regular dose of 80 vitamins and minerals means a stronger immunity.
“…a new habit has got to slot easily into my current routine…”
I have thoroughly enjoyed drinking this in the morning for the past three weeks, and I can honestly say I’ll keep it up. I feel lighter in myself and have even started walking again during my lunch break (something I’d stopped for lack of energy). This has made me feel more positive.
I love that about good habits—once you start, they cascade into all other areas of your life, making everything that little bit better.
I still get the post-lunch slump, but it isn’t as bad because I’ve started making slightly better food choices. By 3 p.m., I get a new surge of energy, which positively affects my day job.
I went away for a weekend and even took some with me. I didn’t want to miss out on my habit of starting my mornings right! I took it in a small glass jar. Maybe this is where Verve could be improved – ‘on the go’ sachets.
How much is Verve?
To buy it once (for one month), it’s £75. It’s cheaper to buy as a monthly subscription though:
- £60 pm for a rolling monthly subscription [30 servings]
- This is what I’ve bought
- 3-month subscription plan for £165 (£55 pm) [90 servings]
- Double subscription for £115 (£57.50 pm) [60 servings]
- Buy from vavaverve.com
If you want to try it, I’d suggest the rolling plan – it’s £15 cheaper than buying it once. If you don’t like it within a month, remember to cancel your subscription. It’s taken me a few months to see any benefits though; just remember this if you’re disappointed after 3 weeks – it might take a while to see improvements in yourself.

My final thoughts
I really like Verve and will happily pay for a subscription once it runs out. which I’ve now started (Jan’25 £60pm). It’s kinda pricey, but to help reduce the sting, I’ve cancelled several vitamin subscriptions I used to pay for. If it improves my mood, energy, and digestion, then it’s worth the money.
As I continue with Verve, I hope it helps during my cycle. I struggle with PMS and period pain. I have high hopes, to be honest. Verve has a blog which details how 12 of the ingredients can help with hormone balance. This list includes magnesium, vitamin D and zinc – three vitamins I’ve purchased in the last few weeks that I won’t be needing anymore.
What if I have intolerances or allergens?
I have many, many intolerances and haven’t noticed any bloating at all. This is even on an empty stomach in a morning.
It’s safe for vegans and vegetarians and free from allergens, which I’ll add as a quote below directly from Verve.
Our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility is FDA (Food and Drug Administration) approved. V80 is free from all allergens; including dairy, soy, nuts, gluten and is suitable for both Vegetarians and Vegans
