If you’ve been scrolling through wellness websites or social media, you’ve probably seen the buzz around the JSHealth Hair + Energy Formula. It’s one of their most popular supplements, promising to support healthy hair growth and boost energy levels—a winning combo for anyone looking to update their self-care routine.

I’ve been using it myself for a few months and I had questions before diving in; especially because there aren’t any negative reviews on their website. How does it really work? When can I expect results? Is it worth the hype and my money? If you’re curious too, you’re in the right place.

In this post, I’ll explain everything I’ve learned about the Hair + Energy Formula, from its key ingredients to real results. I’ve also answered the most common questions (including some I had when I first started) to help you decide if it’s a good fit for you.

What does the Hair + Energy Formula do?

It’s designed to support healthy hair growth and energy production. It combines kelp, a natural source of iodine, with zinc to help maintain thyroid health, which is key for metabolism, energy, and hair vitality.

The combination of kelp-derived iodine and zinc directly supports thyroid function, which is key to maintaining energy and promoting hair health. The capsules do contain several iodine ingredients, so be careful because having too much isn’t good for the body. I’ll go into ingredients further down.

The blend of natural ingredients ensures a balance of essential nutrients in an easily digestible, vegan-friendly formula.

What are the key ingredients in the Hair + Energy Formula?

The formula contains:

  • Iodine (from JSHealth Kelp™): Supports thyroid function, which influences energy levels and metabolism.
  • Zinc: Contributes to hair tissue repair and growth while maintaining overall hair health.

More details…

Iodine Ascophyllum nodosum powder (222.23 mg) is a type of seaweed (kelp) also known as Norwegian kelp. It’s a natural source of iodine, which supports thyroid health. The thyroid regulates metabolism, energy levels, and even hair growth. Healthy thyroid function is crucial for maintaining hair vitality and overall well-being. Fucus vesiculosus extract dry concentrate is another species of kelp, often referred to as bladderwrack and another source of iodine. Total iodine is the 3rd source of iodine.

Zinc citrate is a bioavailable form of zinc, meaning the body easily absorbs it. Zinc is an essential mineral that helps maintain oil glands on the scalp and reduces the risk of hair loss linked to deficiencies. It also supports hair tissue growth, repair, and follicle function.

Plus bulking agents, anti-caking agents and a vegetable shell – pretty standard with capsules.

How long does it take to see results?

As with everything, results vary between people. Some customers notice improvements in hair strength and energy levels within 4-8 weeks of consistent use; some need 3 months!

I saw differences in hair growth within 5 weeks.

Let me explain…

Above is the hair growth I’ve seen with my undercut in 6 weeks. It’s an inch long. I don’t know if my hair grows slow or fast but comparing to previous months when I’ve had this area shaved, it’s longer than normal. My hair is normally thick which is why I got the undercut in the first place; I wanted less weight (and therefore heat) on my neck. I’ve noticed my hair is less frizzy (especially in the morning) when I haven’t done anything with it and slightly smoother.

I’ve seen slight improvements to my energy levels, but I didn’t buy it for this. I didn’t have high hopes anyway because I’m on strong medication which makes me tired. So any new medication or vitamins need to be verrrry strong to defeat them! Maybe when I’m off the strong ones I’ll be able to notice a difference. I’m still able to run which I didn’t think I’d be able to, so maybe they are helping.

Who is this product for?

The Hair + Energy Formula suits anyone with thinning hair, slow hair growth, or low energy levels.

It’s particularly beneficial for those with iodine deficiencies, which can affect thyroid health (but always check this with a professional! The capsules contain several iodine ingredients so results could be negative as well as positive).

How should the Hair + Energy Formula be taken?

JSHealth recommends taking one capsule daily, preferably in the morning with food. It’s always best to follow the instructions on the label. You get 30 capsules for a month.

What do customers say about it?

Customer reviews often highlight improvements in hair strength and thickness and increased energy levels. Many reviewers mention fewer hair breakages and faster hair growth after consistent use.

I’ve read reviews from JSHealthVitamins.com and Amazon to list them below:

Positive customer review summary

  • Hair growth: Many customers notice thicker, stronger hair with less breakage and faster growth, often within a few weeks to a couple of months.
  • Energy boost: Customers mention feeling more energised throughout the day, attributing this to improved thyroid support.
  • Easy to take: The once-daily capsule fits easily into routines, and the fact it’s vegan-friendly is a big plus for many.
  • Natural ingredients: Customers appreciate the use of kelp for iodine and the carefully chosen, minimal ingredients.
  • Price: for a month supply, it’s £24.99 which is less than £1 per day

Negative customer review summary

  • Thyroid sensitivity: A few customers with pre-existing thyroid conditions mention needing to consult their doctor before use, as the iodine content may not be suitable for everyone.
  • Time to see results: Some reviewers say that while energy improvements come relatively quickly, hair changes may take longer, requiring patience and consistency.
  • Price: A handful of users feel the product is a little pricey.

Can it be taken with other JSHealth products?

Yes, but since it contains iodine, JSHealth suggests “consulting a healthcare professional before combining it with other supplements to avoid exceeding the recommended iodine intake.”

Are there any side effects?

The reviews online don’t mention any problems, but there aren’t any negative ones as far as I can see. With any new vitamin there’s always a chance some ingredient might not sit well. When I start any new supplement, I make sure to follow instructions. I don’t start more than one new thing at once, so I know what the problem is if something irritates me.

Their FAQs on site mention they’re “generally well tolerated… people with thyroid conditions or allergies to iodine or kelp should consult their doctor before use. Some users may experience mild digestive discomfort when starting a new supplement.”

Iodine is mentioned several times on the product page, likely due to the amount in each capsule (the top 3 ingredients are iodine). Some reddit reviewers have mentioned the capsules not sitting well and one starting with thyroid problems.

The product page says “formulated with science-backed, clinically backed and has research-backed ingredients” but I couldn’t find any specific details on this – only what the page tells me which is quite high-level information and not too detailed.

How much is it and where can I buy it?

It’s £24.99 for a month’s supply. You can buy it from JSHealthVitamins.com and Amazon.

Two months is £36.99 which is good value but is risky if you’re trying it for the first time.

Like all companies nowadays, they offer subscriptions! As it’s Black Friday at the time of writing, they’re offering 15% off if you buy one delivery per month (£21); 20% off if you sign up for every three months (£60), or 25% if you sign up for six (£83).

It’s worth noting you only get free delivery for orders over £40.

Discount codes that work

REWARD15 is the only JSHealth discount code I’ve been able to find that works. I hope it still works when you read this! Alternatively, check out my JSHealth discount code page for other tips and tricks to get money off.

Is it suitable for vegans or vegetarians?

Yes, the Hair + Energy Formula is vegan-friendly, as it’s made with plant-based ingredients and vegetable capsules.

Where is the Hair + Energy Formula made?

It’s manufactured in Australia in TGA-approved facilities that adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
