This is my first-ever weekly edit! I’m going to tell you all about the most exciting things that I’ve done or found this week and hope you find at least 10% interesting.
Wegovy regrets
I’ve been on 0.25mg of wegovy for just over 2 months now. I’ve lost a stone, and I’m really chuffed! But unfortunately, sometimes I forget to cut back on food and get too focused on what I’m shovelling into my mouth.
We wet out for tea for my Mum’s birthday. I had a light lunch because I knew I was going out for tea. I enjoyed fish & chips with a pint of lemonade. Oh dear. There’s the first problem. You aren’t supposed to have fizzy, sugary drinks on Wegovy. So anyway I enjoyed the food, feeling good, I get home only to enjoy the FINAL PIECE of a cake I’d enjoyed earlier. 10 minutes later, I vomited up my whole meal! £18 literally, down the drain.
I even remember thinking at the time to leave some food, and I did! But it was clearly too much. It was a good reminder, but a shame!
New Kerastase hair stuff – feeling fancy
I cut my hair a few months ago, which I massively regret. Since then, I’ve been trying to find products to improve scalp health to stimulate hair growth. I’ve spent so much over the years on face stuff, it’s about time my scalp got some love.
I bought The Ordinary Multi Peptide Serum to rub into my scalp. It’s non-greasy so I can apply it any time. I can tell the hair at my scalp is a tiny bit bouncier… but I’m still getting quite a lot of hair coming out when I shampoo it. Therefore I ordered Kerastase Genesis Fortifying shampoo and conditioner.
The shampoo size is of a similar size of the normal bottle we’re all used to, but the conditioner is a small tube! I’m glad my hair is short, otherwise it wouldn’t last long! That being said, they both smell amazing and have made my hair feel softer. I don’t get quite as much hair coming out now, but it’s still very early days.
With this order from LookFantastic, I spent over a certain amount to get a free perfume sample…. oh my god. My nose has had multiple orgasms since….
Destin De Balmain Parfum – my nose can’t get enough
I’m not one to wear perfume in the day, as I work from home, but since this sample came I have basically swamped my house with it’s fruity juicy deliciousness creamy air floaty goodness! I received a 1.5ml sample (tiny, pathetic thing) and couldn’t resist buying the 50ml, after much website-scouting for the best price.
Did it hurt my bank account? Yes it did – 72 times in fact. Did the order come with ANOTHER Destin De Balmain free sample, this time 4ml? Yes. Did this justify the purchase? Absolutely – but not only that, it came with another free sample of YSL Black Opium, and a random hair treatment mask I’ve never heard of but will try – Goldwell DualSenses Bond Pro. I chose the YSL one because I’ve used on-and-off for years, the YSL Mon Paris perfume. Also kinda sweet and fruity.
Can you tell I have an obsession with perfume? I have so many sample sets, it’s hard to keep up!
ACOTAR newbie
After seeing far too many Tiktoks where people have literally created scenes with AI – I couldn’t resist any longer. I read the first book in days, have since finished the 2nd, and now on to Wings and Ruin. It’s a whopper of a book though, so give me time!
I watched the Sarah author interview on Call Her Daddy, and couldn’t believe people had Tamlin tattoos after the first book. He was in my bad books the minute Ferye went to the mountain and he did BUGGER ALL to help her. Even after she’d defeated the worm and was literally dying in her cell, why didn’t he visit to help? Yes of course he was being watched, and of course it would then confirm he stilll loved her, but she was dying so what’s the difference?
